When I was growing up, we used to go downtown to visit my father at his office. If we were there late, after business hours, Dad would take us up to the upper floors so we could enjoy the views of Chicago. It’s no longer called Big Stan, the Standard Oil Building, or even the Amoco [...] I watched the television show Veronica Mars for the first time tonight. LOST was another rerun and since I’ve heard good things about V.M., I decided to give it a shot. I occasionally got confused because I didn’t know who the characters were and it didn’t help that I was reading the newspaper while watching. [...] Is it just me or have you also gotten a sudden increase in spam!?!?! The past couple of weeks, just in time for Christmas, I’ve been getting more and more spam! This does not make Missyisms happy. Why haven’t more measures been put in place to stop spammers? Yes, I know all about filters, etc., but [...] Apparently the people in charge of the Pride and Prejudice DVD release were listening. The release date has changed again; now to February. This puts the P&P DVD release ahead of HP and the Goblet of Fire. This is a wise choice. You want some attention when releasing a DVD and HP movies tend to [...] Robert Redford has been pretty vocal about his dislike, to put it mildly, of George W. Bush and his administration. In fact, if I remember correctly, very early in the Bush administration Redford was invited to attend an environmental event with then head of the EPA, Christine Todd Whitman. Redford decided against attending, but instead [...] If you lived in the U.S. this summer you had a hard time not hearing about ABC’s out-of-the-blue smash hit "Dancing with the Stars." The concept of the show, started in the U.K., was B-list celebrities dancing with professional ballroom dancers in a live competition spread over several weeks. Yesterday I said "I won’t be crass and tell you the gifts I got" but I’ve decided that comment implied that I either got exorbitant and expensive things or that I got more gifts than could fit in a big tent at a circus–not true! I didn’t ask for lots of expensive or exorbitant things, [...] My family all came over today and we celebrated an early Christmas. We usually don’t get together this early, but it was a lot of fun (once all the prep work was finished). Everyone had a great time; except Reggie.
