Weather Problem

I discovered the following graphic on weather.com just after 10:00 A.M. this morning. I’ve cut out the ads and radar, leaving only the current weather conditions (the top part of the graphic) and the forecast (the bottom half of the graphic). Notice a problem?

Bummer!

Bummer, bummer, bummer! The call just came that the kiln IS on back order. No idea when it will arrive. Bother, bother, bother. I was all set to fuse away.

Not happy! Feeling very childish. I think I’m going to go eat worms.

Fused!

Tomorrow or Friday I’ll be bringing home my first glass kiln! I’m purposely starting with a small kiln to better hone my skills. And, yes, it’s also cheaper, but this way I can build up my workshop as I improve my skills. The kiln will be 8" x 8" x 4.5"…perfect for jewelry and small [...]

Disco Darcy

Just to show that we Jane Austen fans really know how to party, here’s Disco Darcy:

Too bad they didn’t include the Disco Duck music. ;-)  Hat tip: AustenBlog and Brontëana

Pinhole or Mountainhole Photograph?

The world’s largest photograph? And it was taken using the pinhole photography method…very cool.

Buddy

Here’s Reggie’s new cousin, a.k.a. Buddy.

Buddy, my brother’s new dog, is an 8-week old Border Collie. As you can see he is adorable! He’s also very sweet and alert. Not too stupid either…it’s been horribly hot here and he’s camped out on an a/c vent! But watch out, Buddy is teething and chewing on [...]

TCM Salutes June Allyson

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is paying tribute to the late June Allyson today by showing a few of her movies this afternoon. If you have the chance, tune in to be entertained. Unfortunately I didn’t discover this in time to catch the first several movies or their Private Screenings show with her. Private Screenings, an [...]

Heating Up

Today was so hot and humid, that I kept thinking of this old joke:

One hot evening, a minister came to dinner at the home of one of his parishioners. When they all sat down to dinner, the minister asked the family’s 5-year son, Johnny, to say grace. But Johnny didn’t want to pray out [...]

Cars

Who can skip a Pixar movie?* I had to see Cars on the big screen…and I’m so glad that I did.

Unlike Pixar movies of the past, Cars is weak on storyline. City slicker/big shot gets put in his/her place by the good hearted/down home country folk. We’ve seen it before and before and before [...]

The Devil Wears Prada

Can you say, Meryl Streep? "No, no. That wasn’t a question."

Ever had a boss from Hades? (I have, I have!!!) And that’s what The Devil Wears Prada is all about. And in the fashion industry…to boot. This is a fun and entertaining movie, but there were some flaws on the runway.

Anne Hathaway doesn’t demand the [...]
