FINAL UPDATE: So ends another sweltering day here in the midwest. Reggie and I stayed in most of the day. I turned off everything that didn’t have to be on. I turned the thermostat up higher than I normally keep it, both last night and today. So, I’ve tried to help conserve electricity, for my sake and everyone else’s. But, really, please, any time this wants to end is COOL with me!! Here’s the last snap of the day:

  • We were on track to set a record high today. I don’t know if we made it or not.
As uncomfortable as it was — it could have been worse. We had our parking lot patched and sealed today at work. I can’t say I would have cared to be on the crew that did that job.

  • Yes, my plan as I wrap up this post tonight was to point out that I, as somebody that works inside, have it a lot better than anyone working outside! The poor mailman looked wilted. I can’t imagine how construction workers feel with all their heavy clothes and equipment. Ick.
