Dell, Apple, and now Toshiba are each recalling laptop batteries…batteries all made by Sony. As of this posting, there are now over 6 million faulty Sony batteries being recalled. Dell is recalling 4.1 million batteries, Apple is recalling 1.8 million, and Toshiba just announced a recall of 340,000 laptop batteries.
Has anyone else noticed that Sony hasn’t recalled any batteries? Hello?!?
Does Sony keep the cream of their batteries for their own laptops? Do they sell the bottom of the barrel to their competitors…even though these competitors are also customers? Or are they just too busy dealing with the other recalls to take care of their own customers?
Unlike Dell and Apple’s recalls because batteries are overheating and catching fire, Toshiba’s recall involves batteries that won’t fully charge.
