Every Sunday the Chicago Tribune does a brief article and a longer survey with some person of note. Either a well-known or semi-well known person, or a person related to current event or topic. They ask a range of questions like:
- What do you have in your home from your childhood?
- If we stopped by right now, would your bed be made?
- What do you have on your night stand?
- What reading material do you have in your bathroom?
One question that seems to garner some interesting and eye-opening responses is: "Do you do any friendly snooping when visiting the homes of others?" I think when this series started running they just asked about snooping, the word "friendly" was added more recently. One interior decorator responded, "Of course! Who doesn’t?" One person said, "If it’s a first or second date, I check the bathroom medicine cabinet." Others have said, "Of course not."
I decided to ask you:
I just want to state for the record, I have never snooped in anyone else’s home.
