Anyone know how to recycle old batteries from battery backups? It’s an APC and I know they have a trade-in program, but it’s less expensive and faster to buy through Amazon.com. I don’t see anything on APC’s site about recycling. I know Radio Shack used to take batteries, but I don’t know if they still do or if they take these bigger batteries.
Hmm, I think I found my answer. I’m so glad I asked you all! You’ve been so helpful! Batteries Plus recycles batteries, and there’s one near my parent’s home! And they take cell phones, which I was also wondering about. It doesn’t say if they charge or not. Hmm.
I have an APC battery ready to go to recycling. The last one I took to Batteries Plus they recycled for free. I think that is still the case.
Do they take the case also or just the battery? I wonder if the case is ok to just toss in the garbage.
