Little Green Lies

I’ve been having an intermittent problem with my MacBook Pro laptop. Intermittent is a very potent word here.

Dictionary.com defines Intermittent as:

stopping or ceasing for a time; alternately ceasing and beginning again: an intermittent pain.
alternately functioning and not functioning or alternately functioning properly and improperly.

Tech support personnel define Intermittent as:

Yeah, right!
Prove it; if [...]

Three Months…Three Illnesses

Reggie is batting a thousand…each new month, another illness. Really, honestly, truly this is a trend I’d rather we’d avoid. Since Reggie has a permanent liver problem and now has a red-blood cell count problem, I can’t say that Reggie goes from perfect health to really sick at the drop of the hat, but I [...]

Reggie’s 12th Birthday

Today is Reggie’s 12th birthday! Miracles really do happen. He almost died twice this winter, but here he is doing a lot of bouncing and running around for an old man!

I had decided to make a little video to post showing our weekend driving, but I decided to switch it to a Reggie-themed video for [...]

Reggie and the Deer

I learned something new about my Canon SD500 point-and-shoot camera. I learned that turning off the digital zoom has to be done twice: once for still images and once for movies. First, that’s stupid and a poor design! Second, this was not the video to have learned that on because it ended up pixilating a [...]

WordPress Test

Hey all, I thought I would give WordPress a try, so today's entry can be found at missyisms.wordpress.com. Check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks.

Don't change your RSS/ATOM feeds yet…or set up two if you'd like to watch both locations…until further
notice. I'm just testing things out and might move to www.missyisms.com
if [...]

Testing WordPress

Lately I’ve noticed that more and more blogs seem to be moving to WordPress, so I thought I’d give it a try. I thought I’d start with the WordPress.com version (as opposed to the WordPress.org software version). Hey, it’s free; it’s worth a trial run.

I started by importing my TypePad blog, which was fairly easy, [...]

Locke Problem

Hmm. Not so much a Locke problem anymore. Seeing double, Locke and load.

Oh, and I think Richard is a pirate. Ahoy there, matey. Or perhaps I should say, "was" a pirate.

Reggie and the Cardinal and His Family

For a larger version of the image (and slightly better view of the cardinal), click here. Reggie usually ignores birds, but this time he charged. The cardinal wasn't too scared, he jumped the fence and showed us his superior profile.

For all his bravery at simply clearing the fence, Reggie lost interest and set off to [...]

TechCom

I spent about an hour and a half "TechComming" with a friend of mine. I say "TechCom" because I don't really know what else to call it.

We started with Skype. I was transmitting with both audio and video, but she didn't have a webcam and was only sending audio. We had a very poor connection, [...]

May 7, 2009, 11:23 P.M.

Mark your calendar. I saw my first June bug of the year. There will be many, many more over the next few weeks. I decided to spare you a picture. Thunk, thunk, thunk (that's the sound they make as they smash into and grab onto to any screen near a light). All evening long…thunk, thunk, [...]
