The plan, as best laid plans go, didn’t go as planned. My previous post, Reggie at the End, should have been immediately followed by a post called Thank You. Only, as you can see, it wasn’t. For that I’m Sorry. I’m afraid my Reggie at the End post made some people think that I’m morose, [...] Everyone keeps asking what exactly was wrong with Reggie at the end. Most of you know that he’s had lots and lots of health problems over the years, but this time…wow. It might be easier to list what wasn’t wrong, but I’m not sure what that would include.
Reggie Writes His Blog Here’s the list the [...] I’m at a loss for words. Last Thursday evening Reggie’s health had deteriorated so much and there was so many health problems and he was so miserable, that I had to make the awful decision, but I think the best for him, to have him put to sleep. I was up most of last night with a very sick Reggie. I finally got him to settle down by curling up with him on the couch…where we kind of-sort of really didn’t sleep. This morning he seemed a little better and the vet’s gave me some medication for him, but by mid-afternoon [...] I wrote this post three weeks ago, but never got it posted. It’s about the night the sewage backed up into my house. It’s also about a picture of Reggie backing up. Since this happened a few weeks ago, I don’t know why I’m posting it other than posterity for me and Reggie’s picture is [...] A few updates. My car still seems ok, but I haven’t driven it much. It’s in my chest…a big cough, followed by another cough…and they are desperate to get out. But there the coughs will stay, choking me and tickling me and teasing me, basically tormenting me. Thank you Reggie. Shankopotamus. He may be a shankopotamus, but he’s adorable. I know the picture is blurry, but I like it anyway…it’s so [...] I was on the phone about 5:00 today when I glanced outside to check on Reggie. He struggled to take a step, paused, struggled to take another step, and then flopped to his belly. I don’t know what he did, but he couldn’t put weight on his front right leg. I checked the leg and [...] Reggie has been acting very strange lately and refuses to come inside. This has been bothersome, and after dark it really worries me, but today it was raining and Reggie didn’t care: he wanted out. I finally gave in, after having my legs scratched several times, and put his cape on to keep at least [...] A friend asked me how Reggie was doing today and I started to say, “He’s better,” but I stopped myself. That was the natural response, but thanks to the humor of my native language it was accurate. You know what I mean: “He’s better” might mean he’s improved and “He’s better” might also mean he’s [...] |
