Sunset on Sept. 1, 2010 a few blocks from home. Like much of the United States, we’ve had a hideously hot and humid summer. I don’t think we ever cracked 100 degrees, but we spent way too many days in the mid-90s or higher. And with it so horribly hot, we’ve needed a lot of [...] Update: Life has interfered and I haven’t even transferred the pictures to a computer yet. Both Reggie and the car are sick, and I don’t know how I’m going to get help for both. Even getting them to the right locations won’t solve their problems…I might be carless for days and days because of the [...] It snowed last Thursday, but just flurries. It snowed yesterday, way more than flurries! Today, well here’s today weather: I didn’t let this stop me! No sir! I managed to rescue the newspaper from the curb! That’s the same costume I wore to salvage the paper on this bitter day. I should have taken a picture of [...] It was in the air everywhere…spring! Put it in your calendar, on Feb. 10, 2009 it was a beautiful day in the Chicago-area. Yay! The forecast was for a high of 62F (16.7C) and I think we reached and went beyond that! I was out running around, but never grabbed a picture. You'll have to take [...] This is my windshield from inside the car. We were trying to run errands before the worst of the ice and snow storm hit on Dec. 19, 2008, but the moisture and cold in the air caused the windshield to glaze over. I've never seen it do this before. We had to sit in the [...] Look at the 38 degree swing from the low to the high! Whew! But we'll take that high any day in January! And the sun even shown to help the celebrating! And this evening the moon was fantastic.
It's back. I decided to skip a visit to the grocery tonight…I didn't want to get out of the car again till I got home. No picture this time. I’ve been inside working all day, so I didn’t have to rough the weather other than the difficult job of shoveling very wet snow. My next door neighbors saw a car slide into an intersection and heard the metal crunching as two cars collided. Nobody was hurt…thankfully. As much as I’m sick–really [...] The snow is taking a breather…and after clearing the driveway twice, maybe I can too. Oh wait…I still have work to do. |
