So much for yesterday’s loverly weather! I took this about 9:30 this morning. I used the automatic setting for both today and yesterday’s pictures and did not photoshop them. This way you can see the full, ugly, icky contrast. Notice the lovely forecast of 4 to 6 inches expected by evening. Fabulous! And the 10-day forecast is [...] This was today: The only snow that’s left are the mountains on the parkway that have melted down to hills. 49 degrees! (That’s 9.44 in C.) Whew hoo! It was too cold for this to happen today, but by Friday it’s supposed to be warm enough for the snow to start melting and attacking Reggie’s legs like this each time he goes out. Poor guy. I went to see the movie Atonement with a friend today. The theater was packed! Probably because the outside weather was not pleasant and everyone headed to a movie. This is the first time [...] Reggie and I just got home from our evening walk. We traveled the neighborhood for about 35-40 minutes and are now hot, sticky, and uncomfortable. It’s 10:00 P.M., but is still 85° F (29° C). Ugh. The a/c has run and run today…can’t wait to see the next electric bill. Bigger ugh. Drip, drip, drip, dripping. [...] I’m not making this up…this is an actual screen capture of a Weather.com satellite image…I’ve never seen storm cells like this. Strange.
Reggie is better. The heat and humidity are awful. I’m sick. This image, snapped from weather.com, is from 9:45 P.M. If I’d snapped it earlier today, it would have shown a heat index around 110 degrees, maybe higher. For it to be this hot, this late in the evening, is unusual here and really awful. [...] I discovered the following graphic on weather.com just after 10:00 A.M. this morning. I’ve cut out the ads and radar, leaving only the current weather conditions (the top part of the graphic) and the forecast (the bottom half of the graphic). Notice a problem?
Since I’ve complained here about some of our crummy weather days, I think it’s only proper that I celebrate our beautiful weather days…and today was a great one! It was sunny, with some clouds, and the temperature was in the mid- to high-60s… FABULOUS!!!! It was so warm that Reggie actually started panting in the [...] |
